After winning the André Vergauwen Cup with the Thuringia Bulls in 2014 and 2016, and with RSC Rollis Zwickau in 2004 (Izmir) and 2006 (Adana), Josef Jaglowski secured his fifth international EuroCup title at club level with the Red Dragon’s Metz of France.
The former Baskets 96 Rahden coach and his team slid through the EuroCup 2 competition in Sardinia, Italy like a knife through butter. Stafford, Korkmaz & Co. won all four games with at least 20 points difference.

Three questions to Josef Jaglowski
What does this title mean to you?
“This is my fifth EuroLeague title. I can say that I have reached my personal Olympus. That makes me very happy. Especially happy for the players. This was teamwork. We won this trophy together.”
What made you strong?
“Our team is made up of first-class players, and it’s immensely fun to work with them. The foundation of our strength is mutual trust and support. These qualities, coupled with the necessary will, have ensured that we brought the first title to Metz and showed first-class basketball.”
What would you like to say to your team?
“I always tell my players, no matter what the result, thank you for the good work and the joy they give me. And when we win, it’s even nicer. It shows that the hard work is paying off. And quite honestly, for me it’s also a nice confirmation of my work on and off the court.”

Kallum Stafford: “It’s always an exciting tournamemt coming to EuroLeague knowing an upset is always possible – as favourites we had to keep our selves focused and disciplined to give our best performances. We managed to stick to what we do best and execute our system and playbook to fight through any struggles we faced and bring home the trophy to Metz – A big thank you to our sponsors, fans and everybody involved with the team for the messages and support.”
